Hey there, I’m Candace. Wife to a loving husband, writer and speaker on family, homeschooling and celebrating God’s gift of cultural diversity.
To be entirely honest, I am an accidental homeschooler who fell in love with this means of education and who has been learning with my children for the past 16 years. Homeschooling changed my priorities, my career and our direction as a family. It has not been easy, but I wouldn’t change it for the world! I am grateful for the memories alongside my children, memories of discoveries about God, His world and ourselves.

My husband Louis and I fell in love while sweating on off-road bike trails and while enjoying foods from either his culture or mine. We love adventures, hikes and exploring new places. God has truly brought us to see the beauty in our differences. The diversity in color, cultures and features of people are a resplendent display of God’s creativity! We have been married for 22 years and we are grateful to have been planted in the state of Florida after years of moving and relocating from one place or another. The steady community around us has been life-giving.

From the shy island girl who had no dreams or vision of how far God would take me, to the mom teaching her children to trust in Him, God has taught me much along the way. The thoughts I share here on God, family, homeschooling and life are not an attempt to show my life, faith or family as perfect, but rather an attempt to encourage us all to intentionally build our lives around seeking God’s direction and His grace in the everyday.

R.C. Sproul defines living Coram Deo as living “one’s entire life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God.” I believe living our daily lives in this way can bring joy, encouragement and inspiration, even on the most difficult of days.
Will you join me?
