We’ve graduated two of our four children, and we are getting ready to launch our third. We have put together a call to present resources and insights on the high school years including college applications, choosing a major, scholarships, transcripts and more. Click below to join us!

We’ve had the privilege and challenge of homeschooling our children for the past 16 years. If you’re looking to get started, here are a few of our favorite reads and resources:

Building Your Home
The Lifegiving Home by Sally & Sarah Clarkson*

The Teen Years
Age of Opportunity by Paul David Tripp

Building a Worldview
The Bible – We primarily used the English Standard Version (ESV), I would recommend getting Bibles that change with the ages of your children (picture, children’s, student’s, etc.)
Total Truth by Nancy Pearcey
Saving Leonardo by Nancy Pearcy
On Reading Well by Karen Swallow Prior
Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis*
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis*
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis*

Many of these titles, especially the harder ones on Classical Education and worldviews, I read through bookclubs with friends. Reading a difficult book with a friend makes the lifting so much lighter!
Classical Education
Classical Conversations has been the main spine of our homeschool. While we incorporated some aspects of Charlotte Mason, independent study, reading and other explorations, Classical Conversations has been a constant for our family in community and curricula. You can learn more and find a community near you at their website.
The Core by Leigh Bortins*
The Question by Leigh Bortins*
The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer
Norms and Nobility by David Hicks*

*Books I continue to revisit, either as a reminder or for continued growth.
